It gives pleasure. It gives birth. It’s self-cleaning and can change colors. A vagina is a wondrous thing. It’s apparently also a hard-to-spell thing.
While looking at keywords, which are words entered into search engines such as Google when people are looking for information, we discovered that instead of v-a-g-i-n-a, internet users are typing in the following terms:
vigina
vegina
vagaina
vargina
vagiana
vaguna
vigiana
viagina
vagania
vagiba
Some of these searches made us laugh out loud.
With up to a million monthly searches worldwide each month for the correctly spelled vagina, we know that a lot of people have questions about the body part often depicted as a flower.
We also know that Google’s predictive search algorithm, which uses popular searches to help users find what they are looking for, includes the following in its top 10 for searches for vagina (at least when we look for it — your results may vary).
vaginal pain
vaginal burning
Add that to the fact that one in five women experienced these symptoms — including about half of postmenopausal women — and we have plenty to understand that an intimate skin moisturizer could answer a lot of questions and help a great number of people with a vagina.
No matter how they spell it.
